Community Guidelines

Building together, respectfully.

Kendo is a space for thoughtful collaboration. These guidelines help us maintain a supportive environment where everyone can do their best work.

Core Principles

Be Kind

Treat everyone with respect. We're all here to learn, grow, and build together.

Be Constructive

Offer feedback that helps improve ideas. Critique the work, not the person.

Be Collaborative

Share knowledge generously. Help teammates succeed. Celebrate wins together.

Be Trustworthy

Honor commitments. Communicate openly. Build trust through consistent actions.

Sharing Ideas

Share ideas you're genuinely excited about

Authentic enthusiasm is contagious. Post ideas you'd actually want to build.

Provide enough context

Explain the problem, who it affects, and why your solution matters. Help others understand your vision.

Be open to feedback

The best ideas evolve through discussion. Welcome different perspectives.

Don't spam or self-promote

Kendo isn't for advertising existing products or services. Focus on new ideas.

Giving Feedback

Be specific and actionable

Instead of "this won't work," explain why and suggest alternatives.

Acknowledge what's working

Point out strengths alongside areas for improvement. Balance is important.

Share relevant experience

If you've tried something similar, share what you learned. Real experience helps.

Avoid dismissive comments

"That's been done" or "nobody wants this" without context isn't helpful.

Working on Projects

Communicate proactively

Keep your team updated on progress, blockers, and availability. Silence creates uncertainty.

Honor your commitments

If you can't complete something, let your team know early. Reliability builds trust.

Respect different working styles

People contribute in different ways and on different schedules. Find what works for your team.

Don't ghost your team

If you need to step back from a project, communicate it. Disappearing hurts everyone.

What We Don't Tolerate

  • Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks of any kind
  • Discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, or background
  • Sharing others' private information without consent
  • Spam, scams, or deceptive behavior
  • Claiming credit for others' work or ideas

Enforcement

We take these guidelines seriously. Violations may result in:

  • A friendly reminder about our community standards
  • Temporary suspension from posting or participating
  • Removal from projects you're contributing to
  • Permanent ban from the platform

The response depends on the severity and pattern of behavior. We always aim to educate first, but we'll act decisively to protect our community.
